Wednesday May 11th

Meet at 10am for a walk on Head Down on the east side of St. Catherine’s down.

From Niton on the road to Rookley turn left up Crocker Lane on the village boundary.

Go up to the top of Crocker Lane, off the top of the tarmac, and turn left down the muddy lane by the ‘no parking’ sign.

Park at ‘Linden Lea’ – turn left between the pillars into the drive. Park in front of the house or on the grass.

Alternative parking is further on next to bungalow ‘The limit’ providing this is not occupied as a holiday let.

Wednesday May 4th

A walk to the Longstone at Mottistone to enjoy the bluebells and woodland in spring.

Meet at 10am at carpark near Mottistone Manor,  OS ref.  405838.

Alternative walk for the less agile:  Meet at 10am at carpark at lower end of Strawberry Hill, OS ref. 412836.  We will meet up at the Longstone.

Maybe coffee or lunch somewhere afterwards?

Park in Clatterford Road, near the Archaeological Centre at 10.00 am for a 5 km walk around Bowcombe. David Marshall will be taking the walk.

A reminder about the ‘Looking at the Countryside ‘ walk.

Meet at Cheverton Farm, Shorwell for Part 3 of Alan Phillips’ walks around Shorwell. An opportunity to see some rarely-visited barrows and landscapes. Some steep climbs. Parking in Cheverton Farm by kind permission of Mr Andrew Hodgson – car sharing encouraged. Cheverton Farm is the last farm on the right coming from Newport, before descending the shute to Shorwell village.
