Due to the forecast gales we will meet at Delian’s at 10am to continue last week’s work.

No Shipwreck Centre this week.

Wednesday March 6th

With a poor weather forecast this week, we have planned 2 indoor activities and members may choose which to join, both starting at 10am as usual.

  1.  Cataloguing at Arreton Shipwreck Museum.
  2.  Map research at Delian’s.  If you have a 2 1/2 inch OS map of the island please bring it with you.

Wednesday February 27th

Geophysics (Mag and Res) at the usual site.

We will be based near the start of the farmtrack.

Wednesday February 20th

10am.  Geophysics (Mag and Res) at  Newchurch churchyard.

Parking in the churchyard or the free carpark in School Lane.

Wednesday February 13th

The ground is not fit for fieldwork so we will take a short walk to explore the surounding area.

Meet at the the usual place and time.

2-3 miles, no steep climbs but expect mud.

Wednesday February 6th

Meet at Delian’s at 10am for a practical workshop on stratigraphy.

If possible please bring small samples (handful) of soil from 2 different places, e.g. your garden and somewhere else.
