October AGM update

Society AGM 2020

Our postponed AGM is scheduled to take place on Saturday 3rd October at Haseley Manor Wedding Barn at 2pm. However, under revised Government guidelines we can no longer have 30 people. We do need to conduct our AGM business so the meeting will take place as scheduled but with just six people!

This makes it all the more important that you can send in any comments, objections and amendments so that we can consider them on 3rd October. The links to the papers below are the same as sent out by post to members in February.

We need to:
  • Agree the 2019/20 financial report
  • Agree to the re-appointment of officers and council members. All officers have agreed to stand again in 2020. We have one new proposed Council member, Dave Fairlamb
  • Agree to the election of Matthew Chatfield as new President of the Society

If you have points or questions you wish to raise, please send them to iwnhas@btconnect.com

It would also be helpful to hear if you have any suggestions regarding how we can conduct Society business and support members whilst restrictions remain in place. For the time being, we cannot see how it will be possible to hold indoor or outdoor meetings. Council meetings will be held by e-mail in the first instance but we need to explore video conferencing as this may be a way forward for some other activities.

We intend to continue to have two annual distributions so all members will receive two Bulletins, Wight Studies and the Isle of Wight Bird Report. Very many thanks to those members who kindly agreed to continue to distribute envelopes in August when we thought we would have to send everything by post.

Thanking you for your understanding and support.
