This Wednesday 9th July, we will visit Tennyson Down to view archaeology spanning approximately 4,000 years.
Meet at 10:00 am at Freshwater Bay on the seafront close to the Albion Hotel.
(Parking charges apply in the car park near the beach.)
We shall attempt to spot various archaeological features on our way up to a Late Neolithic Mortuary Enclosure.
There will be an option to continue up to the Tennyson Monument to view a ditched enclosure of unknown date.
The walk is 1.5 miles in total on well-used paths.
For those who choose to continue to the Tennyson Monument, the distance is 3 miles in total.
