This Friday 2nd June sees the 7th Annual BioBlitz being held this year in Parkhurst Forest, Newport 10 – 4pm and brings amateur and specialist wildlife spotters together to record our treasured natural heritage.
This is a free family event run by Isle of WightAONB Partnership and the Forestry Commission. There will be plenty of be walks and talks about the amazing biodiversity of Parkhurst as well as arts activities and wildlife displays by the Forestry Commission, AONB, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Wight Squirrel Project, iWatchWildlife and many more. No experience is needed and people of all ages are welcome to come along and help the experts look for the plants and animals that make this area so special.
iWatchWildlife will be supporting the IW Local Records Centre to collect and collate all the species encountered during the day.
