Eight people met at the car park nearest the radio station on Ventnor Downs for a walk led by David Biggs. The sun was shining, conditions just right for a pleasant slow wander along looking for migrants.
Five members met for the walk along the Yar estuary, on a warm sunny day. I stopped on the swing bridge to point out the cream house across the estuary, once the home of the manager of the Gas Works, now a lovely house owned by Helen Danby & her husband.
Eleven members met at the far car park at Culver Down on Saturday morning, 15th August for a casual walk on the Downs. We were hoping for returning migrants. An early sighting was a male and female Stonechat who were very obliging and allowed us to have good views of them.
